OR ANYWHERE (works in progress)

Or Anywhere is ongoing work that gives up the composed surface. The earlier series tidied a woman's experience before showing it. These pieces show it before the tidying is done. Ink networks, labels and chalkboard grounds return from the earlier work, but they no longer hold. Lines knot and stay knotted. Paint covers what it cannot quite hide. Handwriting replaces the formal hand, and the subject shifts from the tidy result to the woman doing the tidying, sometimes the artist herself. Each piece speaks a different language. All of them ask what that labor costs her.
